S-sense are an Intermediate 4 way formation skydiving team based at Headcorn Parachute Club.
After taking a year off in 2005, we are now back in training and will be entering the 4 way Nationals in 2006 in the AA category.
Although we didn’t get to jump much together last year,
we still entered all the FS competitions at Headcorn and the boys helped out as usual during FS week.
The Andy Kelly 4 way meet in May is a handicapped competition held each year at the club.
Mike Dawson’s team, “Four Cats in a Dryer” beat us and got Gold, and due to our handicap we got Bronze as the best senior team with an average of 10 points in time.
After FS week which was ruined by weather in July, we competed in the Scrambles.
The Scrambles is a 4 way competition – all jumpers are picked at random and weighted so there’s a fair match of skill amongst all teams.
Graham Stone’s team won Gold.
During last year, Mark and Chris carried on doing 4 way with Ritz Pixies instead and entered into the Nationals,
but they didn’t come back with any medals.
For 2006 S-Sense has got together again – Mark Lawson has left to spend more time playing with his boys,
Michelle Garwood has taken over his place. We’ve all changed our slots as well - Graham Stone is now inside centre,
Graham Cooper is outside centre and Chris Shaw is tail. Michelle is flying point, this might be the hardest slot but she's definately
the best candidate for this position.
We will be training mid week this year, hoping to help get the jump numbers up for FS and flat flyers.
We will also be at the Andy Kelly and the Nationals, as well as FS week.
