The 28 way formation skydiving competition at Target Skysports, Hibaldstow is a new event that is hosted annually by the drop zone.
Organised by Simon Brentford in 2005, 2 teams got together to compete in the end, local team, “Simon’s a Lady” was beaten by Dave Lewis’s team, “Herding Cats” from Langar.
The six rounds were completed despite the usual weather issues and I was grateful to get the opportunity to take some stills on the second day.
Two planes are used for the meet – both Dornier G92s each seating 15 jumpers, so we have 28 skydivers and 2 camera per jump. Scoring is based on the number of people in the correct slot.
This was a great event and there was a plethora of experience among the jumpers.
Next event – 28 way fs meet - Hibaldstow are expecting to have more fun than last time, this year
July 8th and 9th in 2006.
